Research Themes

Development of a virus-vectored vaccine effective against SARS-CoV-2 variants

There are hopes for the development of a highly effective and durable vaccine against upcoming SARS-CoV-2 variants. Our laboratory has developed various kinds of virus-vectored vaccines against malaria, and has investigated their immunogenicity in mice. In this project, we aim to develop a novel COVID-19 vaccine that will elicit neutralizing antibodies against the recent Omicron variants in more than 90% of mice for at least half a year after homologous prime-boost immunization.
