Research Themes

Ground-based observation and full-wave analysis of the ionospheric VLF propagation around the Earth

Ground-based observation and full-wave analysis of the ionospheric VLF propagation around the Earth Natural VLF (several hundreds of Hz to 10 kHz) wave is investigated on the basis of ground-based observation and full-wave analysis (theoretical calculation).
Especially, propagation characteristics, generating mechanism, and electron density of the ionosphere are studied.
Figure shows the time evolution of source region of natural VLF waves associated with auroral activity.
