Research Themes

Nucleoporins structures and functions

We study RNA and protein transport through Nuclear Pore Complex (NPC) (also termed nucleoporins or nups) to ER . Many developmental defects and tumors are directly associated with alterations in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport, and my lab is interested in understanding how the NPC mediates transport and in gaining a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of these defects. Meanwhile, we are also investigating the association of NPC proteins with the mitotic spindle during cell division.
