I conduct research related to urban planning, urban design, and community development—in other words, research aimed at creating better urban and regional environments and preserving them for future generations.
To achieve this, the laboratory adopts a fundamental approach of accurately interpreting and profoundly analyzing the relationships between people, society, and urban spaces, as well as between people, culture, and nature, which vary across cities, regions, and districts. Based on these insights, the laboratory strives to unravel the mechanisms of urban spaces and explore design methodologies. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of sustainable urban planning techniques that respond to environmental and societal needs in this era of low economic growth while building a body of knowledge to support these efforts.
