Research Themes

Biological water treatment

Projects under this title are mainly oriented on development of an eco-friendly viable water treatment process based on new technologies focusing on energy production and minimum operational energy consumption.

Microbial ecology

The projects under microbial ecology are focused on bio big-data analysis, shotgun metagenome, cultivation and isolation in order to reveal the panorama of microbial ecology in water treatment process.

Microbial measurement

Core of this project is the development of advanced tools for microbial measurement determined on phylogeny, function and quantity by exploring phylogenic/functional marker genes, single cell analysis and gene editing via high-throughput analysis techniques.
