Singing Voice Synthesis

The study of singing voice synthesis has recently been attracting a great deal of attention in academic and industrial fields. Although its mainstream methods are concatenative synthesis based on singing voice corpus, and HMM-based synthesis, we aim to develop a method based on the understanding of people’s perception of, and production mechanisms for, their singing voice. In particular, we are studying a synthesis method involving the control of acoustic features that are created by the properties of vocal cord vibration and vocal tract shape.
